Case Study 7:

Resorbed roots of a heavily infected posterior tooth

History:
This patient was referred following symptoms from her upper posterior tooth.  The assessment confirmed the presence of a very large infection which had resulted in resorption of all three root apices.

Our Treatment:
Careful apical preparation of all four canals resulted in an excellent endodontic outcome.  It is likely that the presence of two root canals with separate apical exits contributed to the large area of bone damage.

Result:
The review appointment confirmed complete healing – awaiting images.
