Case Study 2:

Broken file in previously root filled tooth

History:
This patient was referred to us following a complication during her root canal treatment, which despite the best efforts of her dentist, did not resolve. The patient was anxious about treatment and worried about losing the tooth owing to treatment complexity.

Our Treatment:
Following an in-depth discussion about the problem tooth (as well as the tooth in front which had also been flagged up by the patients’ dentist) treatment was initiated.

Result:
The broken nickel-titanium instrument in the mesial (front) root canal was successfully by passed and treatment completed. At the most recent review there was evidence of complete healing – awaiting image.
